Created in 1993 to conserve in its natural state, one last examples of an untouched wilderness in the world, the natural park of NOUABALE-NDOKI is located in the basin of Congo in the north of the Republic of Congo Brazzaville.
It covers 4000 kilometers square. Actually, it is managed by Wildlife Conservation Society.The natural Park of NOUABALE NDOKI is an exception site where the wildlife is among the more rich of earth, counting: over 1000 species of trees measuring 2 meters of diameter and aged of more centuries;

of more centuries; over 300 species of bird; over 120 species of mammals, three of four biggest monkeys recessed in the world: gorilla, chimpanzee and bonobo are living, so that almost the quarter of elephants of Congo’s basin, rare animals such as: bongo, sitatunga and hippopatamus.

The forest contains several large clearings, called ‘bai’ in pygmy language, here we find several big game species; western lowland gorillas, chimpanzees, elephants, leopards, red river hog, buffaloes, sitatungas, bongos, otters and numerous birds. The marshes shelter many more animal species including the black-headed miniature deer.There are some sectors of Park which reserve an important population of chimpanzees and other mammals are until now rarely accessed by human and the fauna is therefore naive and fearless. Nature as it was before the arrival of man!.
The visitors can see, contemplate and look around the animals through the miradors built to this effect when they come and feed in the clearings salted waters (Wali Bai, Mbeli Camp) and sometimes close of inhabitations. (Photo)

NOUABALE-Ndoki’s forest is like a shield again the earth heating. This forest shelters the biggest world biodiversity concentration and the richest, most important forest ecosystems biologically. Covering an area of essentially primary forest the park is of great botanical and biological interest as it is an area that has never been logged.
